Downtime meant funtime; for Takahiro, being active and regularly keeping himself hydrated kept him in the best possible condition he could be in. Seven bottles of water were dangling from the back of his waist as he gave his tiny stretches, the American blood mixed in his veins coursing proudly with every bit of lean muscle teased with a small rub. His father was tall for someone without a gigantification quirk or similar but his mother's family were all tall. Even though he was almost an adult, in a few years time he might very well push a few more inches into his height!
"One, two," he chuckled. "Three, four; from your head to your toes, feel your magma flow."
Even though his mother and her family had all either been mutated with parts of their body molten rock or able to transform into it, fully in his mothers case, into lava. As much as he disliked knowing his mother helped and wanted to show her up, that rhyme had been passed down and actually worked for getting his quirk started.
"Mom is hotter than me only because her quirk is actual lava. If I can train mine, I bet I'd be stronger than her or Grandpa... smoldering coals are the product of lava and they can make forges turn molten if you burn it hot enough. Repeat the rhyme and every time you'll start to climb. Finish the climb..."
Takahiro felt his body temperature rising and stopped talking to allow it to rise unfettered; his clothes had been specially-prepared for high temperatures so that he could transition right into training. As long as he didn't burn too hot, his clothing would always endure; given some of them were hand-me-downs, they had been tested against his father's ashes and his grandfather's magma body. Slowly and inch-by-inch, his healthy and tanned complexion shifted black and charred. Skin turned to stone and ash flaked free from the crackling of his body. In a matter of seconds, he went from perfectly normal... to six feet of fiery stone, the heat radiating and drying the ground around him. His water bottles even crackled and grew misty, but otherwise endured. Doing some basic exercise with his quirk running was extremely effective for keeping his water percent controlled, as well as training his body to allocate better storage. Of course, it didn't actually make a real difference in how his quirk handled; in his experience, it just made him feel less like crap when he dehydrated. But Takahiro didn't mind any of that: he had spent the last few years preparing for his new lifestyle and chance to become a hero like his old man.
He pulled free the first bottle and lightly squeezed, the building steam inside it popping the top and sending it skittering higher. And with one quick raise, he chugged away and started jogging the length of the academy track. This would be a warm-up lap. After a lap or two, he'd be good and probably have enough water to re-hydrate for class. Of course, that was under the impression that no one else had any reason to train or interrupt his stride.
