In Musutafu, there were many locations to visit for citizens, students, and even heroes. One such location was... the city pool. Although it wasn't an ideal location for him, Takahiro had decided today was a lovely day for visiting it. He had got his things stashed away at the dorm and was trying his best to get used to being in the city-proper; one way to relax his father had always told him to try was bathing or soaking. Bathing wasn't too much of a good option with him living on the academy's dorms, so he was intending to soak.
The pool itself was fairly light on people today; mostly a few kids too young for school with their parents, taking swimming lessons. A few others were soaking in hot-tubs and shooting the breeze. None of these people were easily recognized by Takahiro.
Wearing a pair of knee-length swimming shorts emblazoned with volcanoes and arm-floats, Takahiro felt a bit uneasy being at pools for many reasons. The biggest of which was that he couldn't float, thanks to his mother's quirk influencing his; neither of them could ever experience the joys of things like floating on a tide pool. Everytime he had ever gone to a beach, he had to have a tube or waterwings even as he grew older. It wasn't too strange for him but it certainly felt awkward seeing all the kids with goofy-patterned inflatables, down-scaled for themselves. But perhaps the biggest issue was that his quirk acted poorly in cool environments, so getting heated up and dehydrating was a real concern. Or turning into a statue. As normal as he might have appeared on the surface, Takahiro's quirk played a big part in his life.
So even at the public-pool, he chose an option many would have assumed weird. He sat down in an smaller hot-tube for children, taking up most of it, and leaned back with an annoyed sigh.
"Well, I guess it might help me relax. Dad's advice is rarely wrong... but isn't this making me a bit more uncomfortable? If I stay in this too long and dehydrate, that'd also be bad... but this water is the only way I can avoid feeling cold..."
