NAME: Elise Vadim
CODE NAME: Heavy Metal
ALIGNMENT: Villain
TITLE: N/AAGE: 18
GENDER: Female
QUIRK NAME: METAL MANIPULATION
QUIRK CLASSIFICATION: EMITTER
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Elise is capable of manipulating any metal that she physically comes into contact with. Utilizing the iron in her bloodstream, she is able to reshape and enhance metal while it remains in contact with her skin. This allows her to create blades, shields and anything else within her imagination and knowledge pool. Versatility is key with this quirk, allowing her to adapt to numerous situations. (When she is not feeling lazy and actually wants to put in effort.)
QUIRK POWER LIMIT: Relying on the iron within her system, Elise can exhaust herself if she overuses her quirk. Resulting in anemia, she can find herself fatigued and light headed or even pass out if she over exerts. This means that about 10 minutes of active quirk use is her limit before fatigue takes over. At her current level, Elise is capable of manipulating up to 1 cubic meter of metal.
QUIRK TECHNICAL LIMIT: Elise can only manipulate metal she is in contact with so if kept away from metals or in an environment lacking them, she will find herself at a disadvantage.
QUIRK FACTOR:
Power 2
Finesse 2
Stamina 1
FLAW: The woman’s largest flaw is her lack of drive to do…well anything really. This translates into a very real desire to avoid hard work. Sure she wants to stir things up and create a little choas, but if she comes across strong opposition or a hero determined to stand in her way...she tends to backtrack on her plans. Why out in 100%? Seems like far too much work. Those against her will often notice her growing disinterest when this is the case as she often displays it openly.
APPEARANCE:
Costume and Casual Wear
Standing at roughly 5'7, Elise's skin has a light tan shade to it and thanks to her quirk, her hair that was once blonde and blue eyes are now tinted grey.
BACKGROUND: Born and raised, the younger sister of Ember Vadim lived quite the normal life early on. Developing her quirk at the typical age of three, her control over metal lead to wooden toys throughout the house and a constant struggle to keep coins away from her. Born to a house of two hard working and sometimes overbearing parents, there was no heroic vision in her future. Far from the type to strive to be the best, often the opposite and preferring to spend her days lounging, Elise’s parents felt they saw potential in their two children.
As she hit puberty, the family decided to make the move from America to Japan. Convinced that the U.A. path was right for both of their children, their parents committed in full to the lifestyle they dreamed of. After all, who didn’t want to be the parents of famous heroes? Having missed their chance to take that path in their younger years, both sought to see it lived through their children. While not cruel in their desire to see both Elise and Ember rise up above the norm, they were careless in the way they went about it.
Before enrollment the pair were thrust into training courses and summer camps, all marketed around making young bodies and minds prime candidates for any of the heroic schools within the island nation. Forced into these preparation style establishments, Elise skated by with the bare minimum effort. Achieving the lowest of their high standards to save herself the harsh tongue of her parents, the process ultimately shaped her towards what they wanted for her even if it pushed them apart. Lazy but competent, her skills combined with the fact her older brother had enrolled a year early eventually granted her that fabled acceptance into U.A.
Begrudgingly accepting the offer with plenty of shoving from her parents, the then teenager again did as they wished. Like all the structured establishments beforehand, she found classes and rules to be quite the bore. Chugging along at another level of bare minimum, a strange blessing came halfway through that initial year.
Disconnected from her parents through her early teenage years due to their singular focus on preparing their kid for a perceived destined life and months spent away at training facilities, Elise found the news that reached her in dorm stunted by the lack of bond between them. Physical and mental distance had a way of softening harsh blows.
According to the report, during an incident in which licensed heroes were forced to pursue a group of villains through the city, a number of casualties occurred as a resulting pileup. Her parents among them it would be incorrect she did not feel a pang of regret for the loss, yet in a way, a sense of liberation washed over her in that moment. Overbearing at best, the realization that there was no longer anyone to force her into a life she did not want, the idea of personal freedom softened the blow the loss of blood relatives might land, even ones parents.
It wasn’t a week later that Ember and Elise dropped out of U.A. with the excuse of personal reasons, a choice none could openly debate after the perceived tragedy. Taking to a life alongside her brother, untrusting in the heroic system for way it forced so many like her to strive for unwanted greatness, she took to an initial life on the streets.
However, with the skills possessed between them it only took months for the pair to find a new path. One less savory than the path of a hero, yet full of freedom, the word villain began to be tossed at them in the aftermath of their antics. Heists or thefts their predominant way of life, the two did well to keep their faces out of the media and slowly build a new life. Far from what their parents wanted them to be, the pair has spent several years establishing themselves under the guises of their nicknames and now live rather contently.
Or that is at least how Elise feels. Motivation often lacking, despite her love for a bit of chaos, the now 18 year old chooses to live by one set of rules, her own. While not outfight villainous nor is she heroic, instead, she is selfish. Looking out for herself and her brother takes precedence so long as she does not have to work too hard. Known as Heavy Metal to the media and those in the underworld, it’s rare that she recalls her previous life at all. It is not worth the effort.
QUIRK FACTOR:
Power 2
Finesse 2
Stamina 1
SUPER MOVE: IRON MAIDEN > Pushing the limits of her quirks control in terms of quantity, Elise gathers enough metal to surround her foes in an iron coffin of sorts known as, an iron maiden. With the choice of added blades to the inside for an offensive version or thickening it's structure for a defensive one, this special move is the current epitome of her skills.
COSTUME: Elise’s costume and typical attires is an outfit of studded leather and jewelry. Not only does the durable material hold up well, the numerous studs and pins throughout it give her a walking supply of metal should she find her environment lacking.
EXPERTISE: METALLURGY – With her quirk active for years now, Elise has taken the time to gain increased knowledge of what different metals are capable of. This allows her to utilize her quirk to its fullest by expanding its capabilities through her understanding of the minerals at work.
