NAME: Sato Susumu
CODE NAME: Puppet Master
ALIGNMENT: Student (1st Year)
TITLE: That one kid with the strings, Susu
AGE: 15
GENDER: Boy
QUIRK NAME: PUPPETMASTER
QUIRK CLASSIFICATION: EMITTER
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Susumu's quirk allows him to shoot strings out of his fingertips. When these strings penetrate the skin of his target, he's able to fully control a part of their body. The part of the body that is controlled depends on where his strings penetrate, and the amount of time he's able to control and the range of his control depends on how many strings are attached to a limb. Susumu has very limited control with his strings, he is only able to aim them but after they are shot out he has no control over where they go. There are a total of 10 main strings, these are the biggest and longest ones and there is one for each fingertip. The smaller ones are along his forearms. The strings are completely concealed within his fingers and arms unless Susumu is using his quirk.
QUIRK POWER LIMIT: Susumu's limit is the length of the strings. Each main string has a complete length of 10 meters. The smaller strings have a length of 2 meters. There's also the frailty of his strings, this means that people can very easily sever the strings and regain control. The strings can grow back, but it can take anywhere between a few hours to a few days. Cutting his strings can very quickly reduce his overall range and is detrimental to his quirk. There's also how long Susumu is able to control a limb. He hasn't used his quirk very often, but if he had to guess it'd be about 2-3 seconds of control. Just enough to do maybe one or two things with that limb. It doesn't take much for Susumu's quirk to get overworked. If he tries to use his strings for longer than he normally should, anywhere between 5 and 10 seconds, or he runs out of string, it causes incredibly painful aches in his hands and arms and he can no longer shoot out string. On top of that, it makes him incredibly sleepy. If he overuses his quirk too much it could turn Susumu from an incredibly useful hero into a liability in a matter of seconds.
QUIRK TECHNICAL LIMIT: Susumu's strings are unable to penetrate anything that isn't normal human skin. If he's up against someone with say, a mutant quirk that makes them similar to an animal (For example, Gang Orca) or a quirk that would result in thicker skin, his quirk is essentially useless. This also means that costumes pose a big problem for him, and he has to get creative to find ways to get his strings under them.
QUIRK BARRIER (Students ONLY): Susumu's barrier is his reluctance to use his quirk. He hates using it and he hates being even partially in control of others actions. Because of this he'll usually only use his quirk in life-or-death situations or if he's forced to.
QUIRK FACTOR:
Power 2
Finesse 2
Stamina 1
SUPER MOVE: FULL CONTROL! > Susumu's FULL CONTROL is used when he is within incredibly close proximity to his target. He needs to be within 2 meters for the move to work. He controls someone with all of the strings on his body, giving him practically complete control over their body for a few seconds. It's a struggle for Susumu to maintain control while using his Super Move, but if he can pull it off, it could shift the tide of a fight.
COSTUME: SMOKESCREEN CARDS > Susumu's costume goes for a magician aesthetic, so he wears a top hat. Inside the top hat is a deck of cards made specifically for throwing! These cards can detonate and act like a smoke grenade. These are designed in mind for Susumu to get close to use his super move without risking his safety. They're also quite useful if Susumu needs to make a quick escape.
EXPERTISE: Susumu's expertise comes from his parents jobs. His father is a professional magician and his mother was a famous actor is japanese cinema. Because of this Susumu is quite adept at putting on a show and acting. He is a showman through and through.
FLAW: Susumu's biggest flaw is his massive ego. He considers himself the star of the show, the coolest guy in the room, the apple of everyone's eye! And when someone challenges that idea it upsets him greatly.
APPEARANCE: Susumu is a lanky guy. He stands at 5'10" and weighs 135 pounds. His normal streetwear consists of violently colorful mishmashes of different styles. His clothes usually don't match or fit together at all but in his eyes everybody "just doesn't get" his style. His hair is jet black and the style of it is changing practically every day, he's done everything from a bowl cut to a mohawk.
BACKGROUND:
Susumu had always lived a fairly pampered lifestyle. His father, Sato Seiichi, was a professional magician and was fairly well known in Japan. And his mother, Sato Kayo had been a famous actress that was very well known throughout Japan and even in the west! He even had an older brother, Sato Sato! The two were inseparable, always hanging out together and playing. His life was pretty nice, for a while.
That is until he was 6 years old. He didn't remember the day at all, but he remembered his father getting a phone call and crying for a long time. At some point during that crying he was told that his mother had died. It had happened when she was coming home from filming a movie. She had stopped at a bank when some villain showed up and robbed it. She had been recognized by that villain and he took her as a hostage. Susumu still didn't know why to this day, but no hero showed up. There was a stand off with the police, and it ended with the villain getting arrested and his mom dead.
With a situation like this, it could be expected that this would create a disdain for heroes within Susumu. That he'd maybe become a villain that targets heroes, or maybe a vigilante. Or maybe he'd just go on throughout his life with an intense hatred for heroes. But this event in his life is what made him decide that he wanted to be a hero. He never wanted anybody to be in the same situation his mother was in. He never wanted there to be a time where someone would sit there waiting for a hero that'd never arrive. And the only way to do that the right way would be to become a hero himself. To always be there to protect the public, 24/7.
Susumu's father practically busted down the front door of their house in excitement. Clutched tightly in his hand was a letter, one that had a big fat UA stamp right on it.
"Susu! Susu come quick! A letter came in the mail for you!"
Susumu lets out a loud groan. It was five in the morning, and his father was already screaming his head off!
"Coooooooming father..."
Susumu crawls out of bed and put on the clothes he had picked out for the day. He was feeling something that was both formal and laid back. So his clothes today consist of the top half of a tuxedo and khaki shorts with sandals. An excellent choice. Susumu saunters downstairs and into the kitchen, where his father is waiting for him.
"Susu! Check it out Susu! It's a letter from UA!"
Susumu tries his best not to look like he's about to explode in excitement.
"Yeah, haha... It's to be expected, with a quirk as stylish, unique, and strong as mine. Plus, they must've known that I'd be so perfect for talking to the press because of how stylish I am."
It seemed like Susumu didn't understand that he wasn't really supposed to talk to the press. Or that getting a letter didn't just automatically mean that he was getting in.
Susumu takes the letter from his father and tears it open. Sure enough, Susumu got into UA. It was time for him to take his first step towards his goal of becoming a hero. Susumu can't help but let out a scream of excitement.
