BACKGROUND:Born in a small town in Hokkaido, Kayano Noriko never considered becoming a hero despite being born with a quirk. Where she lived, life was just far too simple and even if she had thought of it, what could she accomplish with it? However, that would change one day when her family had to travel to the big city. She didn't know why but the people there looked down on her family, they assumed they were poor, uneducated, and possibly even drunk. They asked if they lived in thatch houses with bears and all sorts of other odd questions that she didn't understand.
Her parents, realizing that they couldn't wait any longer, decided to explain the history of how their people had been treated in the country. This revelation woke something up inside of her, the desire to become a symbol. To challenge people's perceptions. To become a new type of hero. And thus begun her quest of self improvement. She was already fairly athletic and that combined with her above average height made it easier than it could have been.

QUIRK POWER LIMIT: Shifting patterns, such as copying her surroundings while on the move, requires immense focus and with extended use causes migraines. When this happens, her patterns typically get jumbled and makes her stand out more.
QUIRK TECHNICAL LIMIT: Despite the flexibility of her quirk, it still only changes the color of her skin. Her outline is still distinctly human and she still casts shadows, so the actual application of her power while in the city is incredibly limited. At best, a foe may hesitate briefly, unsure of what they're looking at when their gaze passed over her.
QUIRK BARRIER (Students ONLY): Imekano has yet to learn how to compensate for the effects of lighting on her body. For example, if she tries to blend in against a wall, the shadows she cast on herself and the lighting will reveal the depth of her body and make it obvious she isn't a flat surface.

SUPER MOVE: FALSE VERTIGO > Imekano uses her natural confidence combined with her quirk to create a false sensation of vertigo in anyone looking at her. To do this, she creates a pattern matching herself and then shifts it along her body and subtly sways her body while acting as if nothing is amiss. Strictly speaking, this move has no actual effect and relies on her opponent's brain to convince itself something is happening.
COSTUME:
The primary color of her costume is cerulean and displays the white bow and red arrow symbol of the Ainu flag prominently on the chest and back. The sleeves go just past the elbow so as to not cover the markings on her forearms. When she put in the order for her costume, she neglected to specify the fit and was given a tight bodysuit against her wishes. As an added feature, it can change colors with Imekano.
EXPERTISE: Force of Will - Imekano has an unshakeable belief in the truth of her dreams. She speaks and acts with immense confidence, allowing herself to push herself through pain and shake people with doubt in their hearts.
FLAW: Imekano is headstrong and can often come off as rude and arrogant due to her refusal to fully adapt to the world around her and instead compromises on the less important issues. When dealing with non-outsiders, she often doubts that they have her best interests in mind and will openly argue with them even when given simple advice, often accusing them of wanting her harmed in some way, before deciding to go with her gut. When it inevitably doesn't work out, she instead doubles down and tells herself (and everyone around her) that she was sabotaged. Furthermore, her strong desire to prove herself often leads her to not ask people for help, instead trying to handle situations she's not suited for on her own.
APPEARANCE:
Imekano stands at a respectable 5'7". While she has accepted that uniforms are mandatory in class, she still wears her traditional headband and earrings at school. She also uses her quirk to replicate traditional Ainu tattoos on her face and hands.

Noriko struggled, but barely managed to make it through the entrance exams through sheer determination. Her first act as a student of U.A. High was something she had dreamed of doing for quite some time. She used her quirk to blacken the area around her lips and created woven patterns around her forearms and hands, replicating the traditional tattoos that Ainu women used to have. Then, in a clear and firm voice, announced that her name was Imekano.
