QUIRK DESCRIPTION |
While Marguerite still does fully understand how to use her quirk as opposed to many would-be heroes younger than her, she has come to learn some basic knowledge of what she can or cannot do. Currently, her quirk relies on close-range invasive combat. By creating small almost needle-like stems Marguerite is able to pierce through skin and subsequently allow roots to enter her opponent’s body. Afterwards she is able to use her quirk to cause flowers to sprout and wound her opponent. If left unchecked, the roots can continue to overtake the body and may be lethal. If the roots were to break off from Marguerite, they would stay inside the opponent's body until the bloomed flower is pulled out.
Defensively, the quirk does not offer much and what it does offer can take a serious toll on Marguerite. As she can sprout flowers of varying sizes, these can often work to soften any damage she may take by either sprouting many in one area or creating a large enough flower for cover.
On a brighter note, the quirk is also very much linked to her emotions and will cause her to slowly or suddenly sprout flowers depending on her mood. The flowers do also sprout and bloom over time although much, much slower.

NYCTOPHOBIA > The fear of darkness. If anything, having been blinded from one eye has left Marguerite terrified of losing the other. She fears that her world would soon come to complete darkness. Thus she dreads being left in the dark. Even partial darkness will usually unnerve her and make her anxious. Because of this, she sleeps with the lights turned on and will rarely venture out after dark.[/div][/ul]
APPEARANCE |
Anyhow, despite looking lanky, she does possess small tight muscles in her arms, legs and the rest of her body as a testament to her training. She has a large dark eye fitted under long blonde lashes, her other is nonexistent and it its place is a flower with visible roots digging under her skin. To compliment lashes, her shaggy hair is also blonde and styled carelessly. Some say that if she carried herself better she would emit an aura of elegance, especially with a face and voice as mature as hers. As to fashion, Marguerite dresses as lazily as possible often opting for dresses and sandals she can slip in and out of comfortably.
[/ul]BACKGROUND |
Marguerite's father was grief-stricken and dumbfounded. Both he and his wife had been quirkless since birth and no rational thought could explain how their child was born with a quirk - that is, unless foul play had been involved. For months he couldn't look at his daughter, much less take care of her in his state of grievance, disbelief, and even fear. Marguerite's quirk had been active even as a newborn, causing tiny flowers to grow throughout her body - flowers that reminded her father of his dead wife.
When she grew old enough to form logical thought, that's when the isolation began to happen. As Marguerite could not control her power, her father would lock her dark closets for days and nights leaving her crying and screaming for help uncontrollably. This lead to her fear of darkness, especially when during one of the nights the fear and anxiety became so much that a flower pierced it's way through her left eye completely destroying it in the process. Strangely, the flower never left and simply burrowed itself deeper into her eye.
She was known to be a scared, timid child for most of her preschool and elementary years. Marguerite never really bothered anyone, usually opting to stay out of people's business. However, being ignored most of the time soon began to take its toll and Marguerite soon found herself craving attention as grew older. Her jokes became edgier, her humor darker, and developed a penchant for following people around all the while sticking her nose into their business. The attention, whether bad or good, served as a comfort to the depressing situation back home. Eventually the attention-seeking made her friends, though most of them were bullies.
Despite turning into a bully of sorts as well, Marguerite was a bright student. She'd always manage positions as top of her class every year. She was a curious sort, always eager to learn more about a subject. This curiosity eventually led her to investigating her own quirk and to learning about poisonous flowers, which eventually led her down the path of creating them herself and testing them on whichever animal she deemed was about to expire.
It wasn't until she was fifteen that she began to truly loathe living in France. Her father began to abandon her more and more each day, disappearing for nights on end. It had gotten to the point that she feared and fantasized he'd one day turned up dead. So she began prepping to take tests to move to the hero academy in Japan. She felt that if she stayed with her father her life would come to a standstill and that didn't exactly resonate with her.
Although she managed to get accepted with a scholarship it wasn't enough to afford a living by herself so she began jumping from job to job until landing a part-time at a flower shop. The two years she's lived in Japan worked to soften her rather cynical outlook and take some of the edge off. Still, many habits remain including those that may or may not have to do with poison.
Even after three years of living in Mustafu, Marguerite still feels she needs to truly find herself out in the world. Most things she does feel boring, empty almost. She wants to find whatever it is that truly makes her happy - even if such a thing is questionable.
