NAME: Ogawa Rena
AGE: 15
GENDER: FEMALE
QUIRK NAME: BOILING BLOOD
QUIRK CLASSIFICATION: MUTANT
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: The term "hot-blooded" is often used to refer to especially passionate and easily-excitable individuals; especially when it comes to those aspiring to be heroes. And while that is also true of Rena, one thing that sets her apart is that her "hot-bloodedness" is very, very literal. To put it simply, Rena's blood is constantly boiling-hot while still inside of her body, and will even remain as such for a while outside of it.
While this would obviously be deadly for a normal person, her body quickly adapted to this Quirk once it first manifested; her veins, muscles, internal organs and skin have all been "tempered" (for lack of a better word) to allow her to live normally, and to a lesser extent, she can withstand extremely hot water for, at the very least, short periods of time (though she can still be easily harmed/burned by an actual flame or fire-based attack).
She also has an offensive way of using her Quirk, though it's not one she's fond of using. There are small slits between each of her knuckles on both hands, from which she can shoot out some of her burning blood in small bursts. Getting hit by her blood (whether it be from this attack or if she flicks some from an open wound) feels like getting splashed with boiling water, and because of how thick blood is compared to water, the burning feeling will remain until it's completely washed off. Prolonged exposure can result in nasty-but-treatable burns.
QUIRK POWER LIMIT: The main thing Rena has to worry about when using her Quirk in any way shape or form is blood loss. Her body does work extra hard to naturally replenish any lost blood; a normal human can around four or five weeks to naturally replenish blood, but Rena only needs about a week to do so. Still, like anyone else, she only has some much blood in her body, and she's just as susceptible to the effects of blood loss as any normal person.
QUIRK TECHNICAL LIMIT: There are two major things that Rena has to extremely careful about due to the nature of her quirk. The first is that, while she might not be bothered by heat in and of itself (at least no more than she already is by her own internal heat), she is still vulnerable to suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration since, while she does still sweat, it does very little in its intended purpose of cooling off her body.
As a result, she tends to gravitate towards anything cold in a never-ending effort to stay cool. She has a tendency to lounge in her room with the AC going at full blast, and her diet consists almost entirely of ice cream and other frozen foods, though she'll eat anything as long as its cold and edible. She's also known for taking freezing-cold showers, and, with the school's blessing, carrying around a large three-gallon jug of ice water to help keep her hydrated during class.
Also as a result of her Quirk, Rena is constantly compelled to dress very lightly (see below for further details), or else she runs the risk of "overheating". That said, given her well-endowed figure, this tends to be rather annoying and embarrassing for her. She's more or less gotten used to the perverted stares and judgmental glares from those who simply assume she's just some kind of shameless attention whore, but it doesn't make them any less unpleasant to deal with.
The second major thing she has to look out for is actually directly related to the above, and it's a simple-but-dangerous one. Take the constant physical toll that her burning blood takes on her body and add the emotional toll of trying to live around it, and we have a girl whose stress levels can rise up very quickly. Needless to say, high stress can be bad for anyone, thus it's important that she finds healthy ways to vent it.
Stress, for one, can lead to hypertension (high blood pressure), which is already bad enough for a normal person, let alone someone with almost literally boiling blood. In the worst cases, if Rena's stress levels are high enough, she'll be unable to gather the focus required to use her blood spray ability, putting her at a disadvantage in battles where it would be useful on top of just generally having a negative impact on her fighting ability as a whole.
One last thing worth noting as that, as a result of her Quirk, her skin always feels very warm, as though she's running a full-body fever pretty much 24/7. Because of this, it can be hard to tell if/when she's sick until other symptoms start showing themselves, leaving her open to be blindsided by a potential cold or any other illness where an increase in bodily temperature is a major symptom.

COSTUME: Aside from simply allowing her to actually cover up while fighting villains and providing some basic protection, Rena's hero costume us also designed with a pump in the back that sends super-cooled water through small tubes that are located between layers of cloth all throughout the suit. This allows her to fight at full strength without having to worry about overheating from her own quirk. The tubes themselves, though small, are made from a strong but very flexible material; thus, they don't hinder her movements at all, and can take some punishment, though it is still possible to sever or otherwise destroy them with enough pure physical force. She also wears a half-mask to obscure her face, the the gloves open up at the knuckles to allow her to use her blood-spraying ability.
As much as she would love to be able to wear her costume 24/7, the pump doesn't last for more than a five or six hours at a time before needing to be recharged, meaning she'd have to take it off eventually. As such, it's rather impractical for everyday life.
EXPERTISE: Extensive martial arts training. She was taught the basics of various different styles by her mother, which she's further molded into a personal MMA-type fighting style that she, even now, is constantly expanding upon. While she can fight defensively if needed, her MO is to get up close and personal and keep the opponent on the defensive with fast, hard strikes that are often aimed at the head or other vital areas. Occasionally, she'll work in her Quirk by either spraying a burst of blood or flicking blood from a wound at an opponent in between punches or kicks, making for a rather effective combination.
FLAW: Although she has a strong sense of justice and is eager to become Pro Hero, she's fairly impulsive when it comes to fighting crime, often adopting a 'punch first; ask questions later" mentality. She has enough self control to know that she's better off letting an actual Pro Hero take care of things, but when it comes to generic thugs and purse snatchers, she has almost zero impulse control, which can (and probably will) get her into some trouble now and again. In general, she's not very good at sitting still and waiting patiently; when forced to, don't be too shocked if you see her doing a lot of fidgeting.
APPEARANCE: Standing at 5'11" and having a rather flashy appearance, it goes without saying that Rena sticks out like a sore thumb. Due to her Quirk, she's compelled to dress rather lightly if she doesn't want to risk, often opting for in what is essentially a bikini top, a pair of short shorts and pink leggings that are made of an extremely light, see-through material whenever she dresses casually. The leggings in particular would be bit impractical for anyone else; she just likes to wear them to feel a little less naked. While her "outfit" does raise some eyebrows for obvious reasons, most people are usually understanding about it once she tells them what her Quirk is and why she has to dress this way.
(Quick note - she doesn't actually wear the scarf or the whatever-that-arm-thing-is shown in the image linked above; I just couldn't find any good/TOS-friendly pics of her without them)
Even her school uniform, with permission from the staff, is much skimpier than what would normally be allowed, having been customized to resemble a sleeveless crop-top just large enough to cover her chest and a miniskirt; for obvious reasons, she wears a bikini under it instead of actual underwear. She's understandably quite embarrassed about having to dress in such a manner, especially since her height, well-endowed figure and long red hair already make her stand out enough as it is. She gets especially self-conscious since she's often accused of only doing it for attention, when the reality of it is that she would love nothing more than to be able to dress more modestly.
BACKGROUND: Half-Japanese and half-English by blood, Rena was born to Saibara Ogawa, a former Pro Hero who was forced to retire after an injury permanently crippled his legs, and Elena Ogawa (nee Bishop), a reformed villain from England who had moved to Musutafu to escape from the judgmental eyes of a hometown who refused to accept that she had turned over a new leaf. Unfortunately, it turned out her exploits were just famous enough for the authorities of Musutafu to peg her as a criminal anyway. Ultimately, it was Saibara who reached out to her, seeing that she'd already served her time and appeared to genuinely wish to leave a life of crime behind.
Over time, the two of them started bonding, and eventually began dating. While most weren't thrilled with the idea of Saibara dating even a former villain, he had enough clout to prevent any sort of backlash. Eventually, Elena was given plenty of chances to show she truly was reformed, and she slowly-but-steadily won over those who had initially been against her living there. Thus began their rather interesting life together. About a year later, Rena was born. A tomboy from the beginning, she proved herself to be quite energetic and adventurous even at a very young age, much to her parent's constant exasperation.
While she never actively went out of her way to look for trouble, she often had little trouble finding it. She was, like many children, four years old when her quirk first manifested. Her father's quirk was that he could generate large amounts of heat from the palms of his hands (his hero name was, fittingly enough, Heat Wave), while her mother's quirk was a simple-but-effective "muscle memory" one that allowed her to effortlessly copy any physical movements she saw, which she used to quickly learn various styles of martial arts to aid in her villainy. It was generally assumed that Rena's Quirk would probably be something heat-related like her father's; neither of them were ready for how true that would be.
As one can imagine, it was dicey at first, as what initially seemed like a simple fever turned out to be much, much more. Though her body was relatively quick to adjust to it, there were still a few scary moments when it all first started that made it seem as though she might be in some actual danger. She pulled through, and after some blood work, it was confirmed; her Quirk was that her blood was extremely hot. Needless to say, this meant a lot of changes in Rena's overall life style, but it didn't take long for her to fall into a routine that allowed her to live fairly comfortably, all things considered. Life went on, as normally as possibly as it could for her.
From the beginning, she was inspired by stories about her father's many adventures. He was once a former Pro Hero, after all; now, he made a living writing and selling a popular series of books called "Hero's Path", which he loosely based on his own exploits. Between reading that series almost religiously and hearing many tales of things he actually did, it came as a surprise to absolutely no one when she started expressing her intentions of following in his footsteps. Knowing that it would probably take an act of God to change her mind, her parents relented. Her mother, in particular, decided, if nothing else, Rena could stand to do some training and learn a bit of self-defense.
At least until she got a better grasp of what she could actually do with her Quirk.
Thus, as the years went by, Rena trained with her mother, learning various styles of martial arts and molding bits and pieces of them into her own personal style, while her father, being used to dealing with heat himself (even if his wasn't a constant thing like Rena's), helped Rena find ways to adjust to her Quirk and live as comfortably as possible. Eventually, the day came that she was finally ready to enroll. While there were a number of schools she could have attended, for Rena, it was a no-brainer. Her father had graduated from UA High School, and that was where Rena was going to go as well. Her Quirk ended up not being especially useful during the entrance exams, but her martial arts and potential proved just enough for her to still make it in; now, she eagerly looks forward to what her new life will bring her.

QUIRK BARRIER: She is afraid of what others will think about her blood spray ability, fearing that others will find it too gross and shun her. As a result, she refuses to use it if she feels that there's even a slim chance that someone other than whoever she's fighting might see it, even if it would otherwise be useful for a fight/situation.
Should someone end up forcing her hand and someone sees her using it, she'll be mortified to the point of barely being able to function properly for at least a week. As a side note, while she she doesn't have any qualms about flicking her blood at an opponent if she's been wounded, there's still the issue that she has to be wounded in the first place. As one can imagine, this isn't exactly practical.

SUPER MOVE: BLOODY HELL > A simple-but-effective attack in which she lets out a powerful blast of blood from both of her hands, which allows her to cover a much larger area than normal.
