Jeet Kune Do: Ever since the tender age of eight, Seiichi has been training in the art of Jeet Kune Do, a martial art invented by an old movie star and martial artist from the time before quirks. Rather than having a "style" or "variant" like kung fu or kickboxing, Jeet Kune Do focuses on a series of principles and ideas taken from other martial arts. It also has a few of its own maxims, such as economy of motion, taking simple motions that conserve energy and time, and "move like water", being fluid and adaptable in any situation. It does have its own four ranges of combat, stances, and attack forms, however.
Engineering: Due to a combination of spending time with his dad, reading books around the house, and studying at school or the library, Seiichi has learned quite a bit about engineering. Drafting, designing, thermodynamics, engines, mechanics, electronics, mechatronics, buildings, vehiclesm... He knows a little bit about all of these things. Enough to start tinkering with his own home-built gadgets in emulation of his father.
Amateur Detective: Take a kid with an actuary for a mother. Add in plenty of true-crime television, detective movies and books, some private study, a few forensics tutorials online, and plenty of psychology textbooks. That gives you an amateur sleuth that's only kept from being a licensed private eye by his age. Seiichi doesn't have access to a full crime lab (yet), but he does know what to look for at a crime scene. He also knows quite a bit about tracking down criminals and their hideouts (in theory) and resisting "wily dames" and their charms (again, in theory).
FLAW: Myrmecophobia, a crippling fear of ANTS! Seiichi's earliest memory is running over an anthill on a family trip to the southeastern US, and getting swarmed by biting, stinging fire ants. He was three years old at the time. This left a mark on the young lad, and he is now deathly afraid not just of fire ants, but of ants in general. If he sees them on the sidewalk, he will try to leap over them or cross to the other side of the street. If there are ants in a building that he needs to get into, he will bugbomb the heck out of the area before he even thinks of going inside. Even then, he might just burn the building down instead. The knowledge that ants are literally everywhere except Greenland does not help him sleep at night.
APPEARANCE: Seiichi is of mixed ancestry, more specifically English, Irish, and Japanese. Like his father, he has hazel eyes. Like his mother, he has dark, almost-black hair. His face is a mix containing his mother's chubby, childlike cheeks and eye shape, and his father's aquiline nose. Said nose is slightly off due to breaking in a childhood scrap. He's about average height for his age, topping out at 164 cm, or about 5 feet and 4-and-1/2-inches. He keeps his hair as short as possible, almost shaved to his head in a permanent buzzcut, making it look like a patch of dark fuzz on his head. Seiichi has been training his body daily since he was eight, so he is as fit as a 14-year-old boy can get. His form is muscular, but not bulky. It's more like a well-toned jungle cat than the big, beefy bod of a professional weightlifter. His knuckles and palms are also callused, due to a combination of labor and his martial arts training. When he smiles, which is often, his cheeks make dimples.
BACKGROUND: Seiichi's parents, Samuel Stones and Kato Kiyomi, tell him that they were both born quirkless into a world where being without any powers makes you a cripple. They were also born on opposite sides of the world, Samuel came from a long line of Boston natives, and Kiyomi was born and raised in Nagoya. Despite being quirkless, or perhaps because they were both quirkless, both found a love of professional heroes. Because of this, Samuel has a Master's degree in Engineering, which he uses to invent, test, and build new gadgets and gear for professional heroes. Kiyomi is an actuary, with a specialization in calculating risk based off of hero and villain activity in an area. The pair eventually met each other via a dating site specifically for quirkless people to meet with each other... According to Samuel, the pair hit it off right away, and wound up meeting soon after matching each other when Kiyomi traveled to Boston on business. A few years later, the pair were married and living in their first apartment together in Mustafu, one of the world's hero capitals! Nine months after that, Seiichi was born, the first of five. He would be followed by Samuel Stones Jr. (two years younger), Sadachi Stones (four years), Sai Stones(five years younger), and little baby Sarah (ten years younger).
Growing up, Seiichi, his brother, and his three sisters had a comfortable enough childhood. They didn't have a ton of money, but his parents have managed to keep everyone fed, clothed, and supplied for school. Sometimes, they'd have enough money set aside for little things, like a night out to the movies, or a vacation to the US. Not bad for a pair of cripples raising five kids on meager salaries. However, there have been hardships. Seiichi however, didn't do to well at school. He was mercilessly bullied by schoolmates for not having a quirk, and he always felt like he was falling behind the other kids in his studies. He just couldn't keep up. Seiichi's family also has to live in one of the more crime-infested, poor districts of Mustafu, far from the UA campus or the ritzy Tatooin district. Muggings are common, as are break-ins, and the family has been robbed multiple times.
The worst was when Seiichi's parents were almost killed by a few particularly brutal muggers. Seiichi was about seven at the time. It was late at night, the streets were deserted, and Seiichi's family had just gotten off of the train. They were heading back after some kid's movie... and suddenly their path was blocked by some punks with ugly mugs and nasty-looking quirks. His father and mother had gotten in front of Seiichi and his siblings, while his father assured the muggers (truhtfully) that he had no cash and that they didn't need to hurt the kids. The punks didn't like that. But... before they could hurt or kill his parents, some shadow leaped down from... somewhere and landed right on the biggest, toughest-looking man in the gang. That shadow proceeded to lay an unmitigated beatdown on the entire gang.
Seiichi only got a few details of the man as he fought. A bandana mask around his eyes... a collared jacket... knuckle dusters... Then he was standing, and the would-be-muggers were on the ground with broken bones, bruises, and probably head-trauma. The mysterious man stayed just long enough to tell Seiichi's father that he should get his family home ASAP before leaving. Samuel Stones did just that.
The whole incident left Seiichi feeling especially vulnerable. He'd been powerless to stop those thugs. His father had been powerless. They'd been lucky that some vigilante (or maybe a pro-hero unconcerned with keeping his count up) had decided to swing by their part of town that night. What if the same sort of thing happened again? None of the punks had been arrested, they might seek reprisal! Or... hurt someone else. Like one of Seiichi's neighbors.
After he explained these feelings to his parents, they tried to sign him up for some martial arts classes. A way to defend himself. He was eager! His instructors... not so much. Every one of them kicked him out of the classes. He "wasn't as durable" as the other kids or "at a disadvantage". His parents couldn't afford to pay for one-on-one training, either. They pretty much gave up on it, and Seiichi prepared to give up on it, too. Until... he saw a flyer for free training in the art of "Jeet Kune Do". Some man by the name of Okada was offering this training at his dojo, no cost, no payment, no fees for uniforms. The only caveat? Since he wasn't taking any money, this Okada might reject any student for any reason.
The next day, Seiichi showed up at the address after school, without telling his parents. He expected some elite academy with high walls and amazing architecture, like the UA campus. What he saw was... a run down old house in the middle of an abandoned neighborhood. The lawn was overgrown, the fence was missing in places, and the walls... the walls looked ready to collapse. Yet someone was living there. Some old man that was trying and failing to start an outdated old lawnmower. Seiichi assumed he had the wrong place, but... the old man looked like he needed help with that lawnmower. So, after being called over, he helped to fix it. Turns out the oil had never once been changed on the thing, and a belt had gotten old an worn. The fix was easy, the sort of stuff his dad did for fun. Mowing the lawn after? That was a bit harder. Especially since the old man neglected to pick up any sticks before he got out the lawnmower.
Over the course of a long day of chores, he was asked why he came. He said he'd found a flyer advertising the free training. Why did he want that training? So he could defend himself. Why didn't he go to a community center defense class, then? His parents had tried to sign him up for those, he'd been kicked out. Why was that? He was quirkless. And that was when he was given a uniform, a cookie, and a command to come back tomorrow for training.
Seiichi did come back the next day, after getting an earful from his parents and giving some promises of extra chores and watching his siblings that weekend. He showed up, put on his uniform, and was given his training regimen. In addition to the chores around the dojo, he was given exercises to do every day, in and outside of training, a strict diet to follow, and a wooden training dummy to bash his limbs against until they went numb. He was also taught how to fight. How to punch, kick, clinch, and grapple. Movesets to memorize and practice ten thousand times, until he could do the motions without thinking. And... movies. Lots of martial arts movies to watch and study if his master thought he was doing well. His master often thought he was doing well. Not because he was gifted, but because he put in the work.
Outside of training, he started to get more confident. His bullies left him alone when they learned he could fight back, despite his lack of a quirk, and he made some new friends by defending their other targets. He started to apply himself at school, and his grades improved. He even felt like he could learn on his own, and started studying subjects that interested him in his free time. Outside of class and training, he started to get to know his neighbors properly. He learned their names, their needs, and what he could do for them. He "patrolled" his neighborhood with his favorite red hoodie and backpack and he helped find lost cats, fix things around their buildings when landlords refused to pay for handymen (using the skills he got from his master and father), and helped the elderly ones get their medications and groceries.
Now, at the age of fourteen, he's come a long way. He's fit... he knows how to fight... and he's going to a pretty good highschool, though it's no UA (his parents talked him out of signing up for the tryouts). He always has a smile for his friends and family, and he's starting to show some of his dad's terrible jokes and love for puns. Every day, he does his workout, goes to school, goes to the dojo, goes home, crams to finish his homework, then he helps out a few of the neighbors. And, most nights, he puts on an updated version of his costume, packs his bag, and patrols his neighborhood for wrongs to right, and crooks to fight. He is...

SUPER MOVE:
COSTUME: Seiichi's costume is pretty simple. He wears a red, zip-up hoodie with "NW" sewn on top of it. He also wears some workpants with zip-up and button-up pockets, running shoes, fingerless gloves (to cover the boxing tape) and a reusable, black surgical mask to disguise his face. He might also wear some dark shades during the day to cover up his eyes. Function - Grapple Gun & Belt: Seiichi has one gadget of his own design added to his costume. A grapple gun, complete with gripper claw function! With this tool, he can quickly zip up buildings, suddenly change directions, and pull items to his person very quickly. Unfortunately, he hasn't figured out how to shrink the motor down enough to fit entirely in the gun itself. So, he houses the motor and most of the line in a belt, complete with gun holster.
