NAME: Sekino, Hagane
CODE NAME: Simulacrum
ALIGNMENT: Student
TITLE: Nada
AGE: 15
GENDER: Male
QUIRK NAME: PANTOMIME
QUIRK CLASSIFICATION: TRANSFORMATION
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Hagane’s quirk allows him to replicate the physical properties of whatever he touches, transforming his own body into a biological facsimile of the substance. For instance, were he to touch and try to replicate steel, his body would take upon the durability and properties of the substance, whilst still ensuring that all major functions still work as intended with no interruption. Hagane also experiences small changes when he converts his body, depending upon what the substances are. E.g Steel increases his durability, cotton makes him lighter.
QUIRK POWER LIMIT: Hagane’s power is limited to a variety of factors, most notably is environment and the length of time he can take on a substance. Hagane’s power only works fully-body when there is a large amount of the substance to copy (1mx1m at the smallest), with anything less than the minimum amount only changing the parts closest to the substance he is touching. He can also only maintain a transformation for five minutes at a time, before needing to refresh or find another source.
QUIRK TECHNICAL LIMIT: While Hagane can copy granular or liquid substances, such as sand or water, to do so would be almost instantly lethal to the boy, as his body and brain would simply fall apart.
QUIRK BARRIER (Students ONLY): Whilst Hagane’s quirk is capable of going far further than just taking on the substances he acquires, such as being able to shapeshift while under the effects of a transformation, he is currently unable to do anything else with it, both out of inexperience and the risk of permanent mutilation.
QUIRK FACTOR:
Power 2
Finesse 2
Stamina 1
Quirk Factor refers to the natural characteristics of a Quirk. Power refers to raw output potential of a Quirk. Finesse refers to innate control and manageability. Stamina refers to prolonged use and resistance to negative effects of their Quirk. You have five (5) points to distribute between these attributes. A Quirk might be powerful but lack of Finesse, or have a variety of uses but be exhausting. Eraser Head's Erasure could be 3/1/1, for example; he has a strong ability, but only the one application and a low usage limit. Consider your description and limits when assigning numbers here, as the Quirk Factor will inform all combat.
SUPER MOVE: ALTERATION > Hagane pushes all he can into his quirk, forcing the conversion throughout the entirety of his body despite the potential risks. At this point, he is able to manipulate his body with a certain degree of fluidity, such as transforming his arms into blades, changing in size and more. However, this comes with the drawback that he cannot maintain this form for long, and must quickly return back to normal or risk damaging himself.
COSTUME: Hagane’s costume has him shirtless, with a pair of long legged dark pants, heavy duty leather combat boots and a steely grey half face mask that hides all but his mouth and jaw. The pants are made of kevlar in any section but the knee and ankle joints (which are instead plastic reinforcements), and are covered on the outside by cloth. At his waist is a leather sheath, housing a titanium Katana.
EXPERTISE: Hagane is a skilled practitioner of the Japanese sword fighting style of Kendo, having trained with it for roughly five years, and despite chafing beneath its strict rules has recently earnt his 2nd-dan.
FLAW: Hagane is… a little volatile, and a LOT protective of his family, even if he doesn’t like to show it. Not only is he prone to violence, relying upon his fists to solve a lot of issues that could be talked out but he is also rather easy to provoke, especially when concerning his family. This allows others to trick him pretty easily into falling for ploys or traps, as he develops a sort of tunnel vision based around on crushing the one in front of him.
APPEARANCE: Hagane stands at 5’8’’, with dark hair and reasonably pale skin. He is well muscled as a result of constantly working out, and has cool blue eyes. See pic for his usual clothes. Beneath the jacket and across his back he hides his Katana within its sheathe, as he carries it with him everywhere.
BACKGROUND: Hagane was born in Japan… and that’s about as much as he remembers of his earlier years and his birth parents. His earliest memories were of living in an orphanage in the city and growing up around multiple other kids of varying ages, being told that his parents had died in a car crash when he was just two years old, the collateral damage of a large scale battle between heroes and villains. Growing up among the (somewhat numerous) orphans of Musutafu, Hagane didn’t learn much in the ways of proper schooling, spending his formative years on the streets running around with the older kids as they played games, stole and mucked around all day. Eventually however, as he grew up, he’d watch his friends disappear and be replaced, all being either adopted or kicked out once they reached the age that the government was no longer required to care for them.
Unfortunately, however, these negative experiences proved to be disastrous for the young Hagane, as he ran from his home in the orphanage at the first sign of him being adopted. For a young child, this was about as dangerous as one would expect, and it took only a couple of months living on nothing but charity for young Hagane to find himself malnourished, dirty, ragged and crying behind a dumpster. However, in the darkness of that moment was when his future father found him. Sekino Shigeru found him in that moment, and a single bean paste bun later he came out cradling his new son.
The years leading up to the present day were some of the happiest of Hagane’s life, as he slowly acclimated to his new family. Whilst nowadays he is currently going through what may be called a rebellious streak, and a temper has formed, the first few years he spent the majority of it following his new papa around on business trips and learning new skills with him, such as multiplication and participating in a martial art. It was these years, not to mention his new siblings, that inspired him to take a shot at entering the prestigious UA high.
The weeks leading up to the entrance exam were a… trying time, for Father and Son, but eventually after making it through the combat exam and barely scraping by in the mental, Hanage found himself accepted into UA high, and on his way to becoming a pro hero.
