In the almost deserted streets, Noboru walked, trying his best not to limp. His hood covered his face, but blood trickled down on the concrete below. He had just managed to win a fight against three local thugs, but it was at a high cost. His quirk was especially unsuited for long-ranged fighters and two of them checked that box. One could transform small objects into bombs and the alleyways of Tokyo, the number of metal sure proved to be a real pain. Shrapnel flew everywhere, hitting both Noboru and the thug’s allies and although he did his best to avoid getting hit at the worst places, a huge amount of small metal shards lodged themselves under his skin, causing minor bleeding. One of them slashed his eyebrow, making a huge mess and blinding his right eye in the process. Sure, it hurt like heck but removing each bit one by one was by far the thing that annoyed him the most. Taking his fair share of punches and kicks, he managed to scrape by and secure the win. Calling the cops to the location of the three bodies lying face down on the street, he got away as far as he could as to avoid getting caught himself.
He stumbled into another alleyway, letting himself fall over a couple of cardboard boxes. Maybe it was due to blood loss, but he was starting to feel a bit hazy. He looked at the sky, unsurprised to see no stars but rather a thick cloud of smog blocking the way. He groaned a bit. Maybe he should rest a little. Worst case scenario, some drunkard would probably try and mug him. Wouldn’t be the first time. He kept thinking about how if he hadn’t stepped in the way of those guys bothering that other dude, he would have gone to the corner store nearby, bothered the annoying but cute lady cashier for his own guilty pleasure bought an ungodly amount of food and crashed on his sofa watching late-night shows. Instead, duty called and as with every other crime he stumbled upon, he had to do something.
“What a shitty night…”
